Our genealogy experts will typically spend a few hours researching births, deaths, marriages and census data in the government records office. This will often then lead to a location search and a visit to a graveyard or other location before you arrive.

A great example is a couple from San Diego, USA, who recently asked for information on a relative who lived on the Isle of Man in the 1800s. The name was quite common, J Kelly, but there was also a name of a farm believed to be associated with the relative. After finding the farmhouse, the owner kindly agreed for our clients to visit.

So when the American couple visited, they were not only able to sit around the fireplace where their relatives had sat 150 years previously but they were taken to the church and sat in the same pews where they were married!
