The best and most convenient way to get to the island is to fly.

As you are planning to travel from the U.S.A., we recommend flying via Dublin, Manchester, London Gatwick or London Heathrow, as these airports offer a range of international routes.

Aer Lingus via Dublin has an extensive route network from the United States. Loganair operates via Manchester and London Heathrow, while Easyjet flies from London Gatwick to the Isle of Man.

For international visitors, we generally encourage booking flights to the Isle of Man.

This is because flights can usually be taken directly from your arrival airport in the UK (such as London, Manchester, or Liverpool). This then avoids the need to navigate the potentially long distance from the airport to one of the ferry ports, which may require knowledge of the UK road and rail network, along with the approximate 4 hours crossing, all of which can be challenging after an international flight.

Travel by sea is another travel option, but availability is limited. Sailings from England (Heysham & Liverpool) are daily, while crossings from Dublin are once per week or every other day from Belfast.

The nearest international airport to Liverpool or Heysham is Manchester.

We recommend searching flights locally as you can get these cheaper, although our team can advise you on the best options.
