The Parish Walk is an endurance walking event held annually on the Isle of Man.
Starting at the National sports centre in Douglas and finishing on the promenade, the event takes place nearest the Northern Summer Solstice and takes in every Parish on the island for a total distance of 85 miles.
The distance and the island’s terrain prove a genuine challenge for new and experienced competitors. However, the fastest walkers finish the race in under 15 hours.
First held over 100 years ago, the event has evolved over time and now features cutting-edge technology with electronic timing and GPS tracking of competitors.
The Isle of Man Parish walk is also a large fundraising event where each walker can raise money for a wide range of charities that benefit each year.
In 2023 the event will take place on Saturday, 24 June 2023.
